Yay! I love my cool Halloween door!

A Family Day in the Canyon

This past weekend, Mitch and I decided it was time we took Brandon to his first ride through Spearfish Canyon. We figured it would be the last weekend that we could do it before the leaves were gone and it got too cold. We went for a drive last year through the canyon with my dad and grandma about a month before she passed away. It was then that I decided I'd like to make this a family tradition for us and as Brandon gets older, we can find some trails and go hiking.

We started our family day by having lunch at the Stadium in Spearfish. That was a major hang out for us when we were in college up there. So many fun times had there. We watched the Vikings beat the Lions (YIPEE!) and Brandon had quite a bit of the attention of some of the older people in the resturant, which is not uncommon.

After lunch, we headed up the Canyon. Beautiful. I LOVE this time of year! It was so gorgeous, the weather was perfect and we even found a few strangers who took pitty on us and offered to take a picture of the 3 of us :) We found a few nice spots to take pictures and even though B got MAAAAD at us for taking him in and out of his car seat multiple times, we got some really nice shots!

WARNING: We took TONS of pictures so there will probably be an over abundance of photos.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I love fall. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! The weather is perfect, the leaves start to change colors, there are pumpkins galore, the decorations are cute, the Pumpkin Spice Lates at Starbucks (duh!) and I think fall just makes people happy.

Today we went to the Pumpkin Festival at Main Street Square with our good friends Kriste, Sam and little Archer. It wasn't much of a fall feeling day with the temps being in the mid 80s. Add that with about 500 people and 2 babies and it just makes for chaos....but I digress. The pumpkin festival was so cute! It will be so much more fun next fall when Brandon can participate in some of the activities! They had a bouncy castle, free rides on the train, pumkpkins EVERYWHERE of all shapes and sizes, music and food!

The boys next to a giant pumpkin. Mitch got made at me because I tried to sit B on it. Apparently there was a sign frowning upon that....but it was way in the back where nobody could see it! Rules....

Family picture! Poor lil' man is teething AND has a cold. Not the most excited kid at the pumpkin festival.

Big Momma (thats me) decided she needed a chocolate banana smoothie....so I shared.

THIS is the most excited he got all day.

11 Whole Months!

What??....11 months? I literally feel like I just went into my emergency C-section 2 months ago? How can my sweet little 7lb 10oz baby boy already be a 20lb crawling tornado?

B is learning SO much so fast! Clapping, kisses and singing are just a few. He is FINALLY crawling on his hands and knees instead of the army crawl he's been doing for 2 months. Brandon is learning quite a few new tricks, like the TV does something cool when you push a bunch of buttons on the remote or that mommy gets excited when I go near any and all electrical cords. He also LOVES the vaccum cleaner! He follows me around every single room and touches the vaccum. When I take the hose section and suction on his foot he just thinks that is the funniest thing!

The latest thing Brandon and started doing is walking around our coffee table in the living room. I put the puff treats all around it and walks around and eats them all. That's our new game :) It's so fun for him! He stomps so hard on the ground too-he's learning to use those legs!

Again, I can't believe that a year ago I was a big as a house, waiting patiently for this baby to come into our lives, and now here he is chewing on the vaccum!

Clap, clap, clap!

Such a cheeser!

Yay!

Just a FEW B's 9 Month Pictures...

Swimming Lessons!

Brandon had his first swimming lessons today at the Swim Center! I have to admit I was nervous for a number of reasons....

1. Brandon woke up at 7 am this morning which means with lessons starting at 9:40, nap time would be pushed back. NOT GOOD.

2. Brandon hadn't pooped yet, which he usually does about 30-45 minutes after waking up. Dear God.....Yikes.

3. The last time I took him swimming, he HATED it. Crying, climbing all over me, screaming-you name it.

So I figured I had some pretty legit reasons to be nervous. Turns out I worried for no reason! I love when that happens :) W had to run a few errands before lessons started so he got in a good 45 minute nap in the car (score!!), there were no poopy diapers until AFTER we got home (can't say the same for poor Ellie) and he LOVED the water! It was warm and he enjoyed every single minute of it, until he swallowed a little bit of water and started choking which in turn caused me to have a mild heart attack.

The class is called "Parents and Me" swimming class but 99.9% of the parents in the water were mommies while the daddies were out of the water all taking video and pictures. Which was totally fine with me because we had so much fun!

They started off with us pouring water on their heads from little water cans. I thought B would freak but he didn't mind one bit! Then they had us start kicking their little legs and we moved around the pool kicking with them. There were a few other activities we did and Brandon laughed, clapped, kicked, splashed and enjoyed his time with Ellie, Finn and Dalton.

Super excited for our first lesson!

Kick Kick Kick!!!

Yay!

Get it B!

I had NO clue what our instructor wanted us to do with these noodles.
The whole thing seemed unsafe to me!

Hangin' with Big D.

We loved our first swim class!! Summer Olympics 2032 here we come :) Not really.
